Donnacha Toomey is an Irish singer songwriter and guitarist originally from County Limerick. Having played in a number of bands primarily as a songwriter/guitarist he has adopted a solo approach in recent years.
Donnacha has played at numerous music festivals including "Spirit of Voice" in Galway, "Exile on South Main St." in Wexford and the "Limerick Acoustic Guitar Festival". He has also shared the stage with a number of artists including Freddie White, Sheila Chandra, Hazel O'Connor and Clive Carroll.
Donnacha has recently released "Carnival of Colours" an album that has already received much interest for its "judiciously crafted songs" and musicianship.
The album has received extensive airplay on well established RTE and BBC radio shows as well as a number of US folk stations. "Carnival of Colours" has allowed Toomey's sound to evolve even further, featuring acoustic tracks, a number of full band arrangements and instrumentals.
In 2005 Donnacha released "Reasons" a collection of songs which serves as an introduction to his rootsy acoustic guitar driven songs.
